  The length of a single Ethernet cable is limited due to signal loss and noise. List at least 2 approaches used by Metcalfe and Boggs to extend the effective length of an Ethernet cable. What key tradeoffs were made in these approaches? Explain, being as concrete as possible.
  
  Bonus questions: What was the bandwidth of the Ethernet described in the paper? Why were the authors wary of their Ethernet having too much bandwidth?
